Our discovery in Distillery District, thoughtful of him

Once, my boyfriend and I were having a walk at Distillery District in Downtown Toronto. We visited a shop that was selling handmade pieces. There we noticed a bracelet with an engraved pendant. It had the shape of a pair of birds and a meaningful note on it. My boyfriend bought the necklace as a gift for me. In a short time, the piece became my favorite. I would wear it every day. Unfortunately, one day I noticed that the pendant is missing from the bracelet. It made me very sad since it was carrying special meaning for me. One day my friend and I were studying for an exam in a library. When we came back from a break,...

Funny and Real: How could I flush my necklace?

"I was a chill kid in my school life. When I was in elementary school, my mother gifted me a simple gold chain necklace. Little I knew about jewelry and its monetary value. One day, it got dropped into the toilet sink. I did not feel comfortable to take it back and flushed water after. When I told this to my mother, she was disappointed. Now, when we remember the story of it, we laugh a lot. I love the fact that my mother was trusting little me with gold jewelry, and we can laugh at silly things we did in our childhood". - Shahri, Control EngineerWhat is your most memorable jewelry story? Where is my pearl earrings?

"My mother and aunt have had gold pearl earrings in their childhood. When my cousin and I were born, they gifted their earrings to us. When I was in the 4th grade, my earrings fell, and they incidentally got damaged under my foot. Then we took it to the jeweler, and after the jeweler fixed it, he accidentally put it in a box of someone else's set, and we couldn't take them back. Instead, the jeweler gave me another earring - it did not look like my earrings. From that age, I have fragile feelings towards pearl earrings. - Narmin, Molecular BiologistWhat is your most memorable jewelry story? Feel free to send it over to us, and we promise to highlight...

Necklace smells like my mom

"While growing up, I watched my mother how she loved jewelry. When I was in my teens, she gifted me a white gold necklace that I loved wearing every day. One day I lost it. I searched for it for a long time, and I still remember the design of it. It was special for me because my mother thought of me as a young girl and trusted me with an expensive piece. If I ever have a daughter, I will gift similar jewelry for her and let her know the story behind it and how big a heart her grandmother has." - Founder, Sade JewelryWhat is your most memorable jewelry story? Ruby earrings from the childhood

"One of my favorite pieces of jewelry is small gold earrings with ruby. I saw a pair of them in one of the stores three years ago and bought them immediately. I consider myself a responsible shopper as I don't buy a lot of things. However, these earrings were unplanned, and I wear them almost every day. They remind me of my very first earring my mom got me when I turned 4. They were very tiny gold and with little ruby stone. When I got my ears pierced, I started wearing them almost immediately and didn't want to take them off. Time passed by, I grew up and had various pieces, but those ruby earring ones always cherish me...
